Large, stiff and heavy die struck in gilding metal, broad slider to rear (as issued) for wear on the valise or 'large pack', the design was based on the old helmet plate. Circa 10.5cm tall and 9.5cm wide.

Kitchener's Army and the Territorial Forces, by Edgar Wallace - a large hardback book published circa 1915
188 pages. profusely illustrated with black and white photos. It has a small number of colour plates. There is no date of publication, but given it is all about the training of this army, it suggests late 1915. Circa 28cm by 21.5cm.
