'Ike' - American General Eisenhower reviews a smart looking British army regular battalion (most probably DCLI)
Top brass (RAF ) accompany American General Dwight D. ( Ike ) Eisenhower as he inspects a fine looking body of troops. Not sure which regiment. Post WW2 photo / postcard with blank reverse. In very good condition. Pre 1953. Later the 34th President of the USA.

A photo of a grave stone in an unidentified Tweedmouth church graveyard (although I beleive they were methodists) commemorating Norman Elliot of the 2nd Royal Scots who fell in France aged 19 on the 12th October 1918 and who was interred at Philosophe Military Cemetery (in Pas de Calais, France). WW1 Postcard - Chisledon Camp, nr Swindon in Wiltshire
An amusing little ditty of a poem about life of army recruit at Chisledon Camp in Wiltshire printed on one side of a postcard, postally used in July 1916. Almost nothing remains of Chiseldon Camp in Wiltshire today. It was set up in 1914 as a training base for up to 10,000 troops at a time, before they went to the front.
