Edwardian Real Postcard - Royal Engineers Officer living the Good Life
The epitome of peacetime soldering, at least if you were an officer. Comfy club chair, today's newspaper, soda syphon and pipe to hand, cigar box below and dog at your feet. Where did we all go wrong! Postally used 1904, message to reverse. Some minor corner wear, but otherwise in very good condition.

WW1 Original Postcard of Territorial Force Corporal wearing his Imperial Service Bar
Posed original photo, one can just make out a curved metal shoulder title with a T above, but other than that, he remains unidentified. Good to have a clear image of the volunteered for overseas service bar. Postally unused, minor corner wear, otherwise in good condition if not a little grubby.

Original WW1 postcard showing a pontoon bridging / assault boat section, most probably Royal Engineers
Postally unused and of French manufacture, a great image of an old military lorry with two trailers attached with assault boats or pontoon boats. There is a tall chimney in the background, this is not attached to the boat! Slight crease in white card to the left of the lorry, but this is not actually on the image itself, otherwise excellent condition and scarce.

In Memoriam Printed Card for the Loss of the British Airship R101 - includes Roll of Honour
The R101 airship crashed in France during its maiden overseas voyage on 5 October 1930, killing 48 of the 54 people on board. Curiously, the memoriam card states only 47 killed, including crew and passengers. The killed included Lord Thomson, Air Minister and Sir Sefton Brancker, Air Vice Marshal of the RAF. A poignant and scarce reminder of this tragedy which put paid to British airship deve... read more

No 11 in the series of twelve large scale foldable maps covering France and Belgium, this one covering the Lens area which included Arras, Bapaume and of course Lens. Map itself is clean and intact, the linen covers are grubby from service use and foxed with age. It is not a trench map as it does not have trenches marked on it.
Captain W G Clark was an officer in the Royal Fi... read more

14th Indian Division Theatre Made Xmas Greetings Paper Slip 1943 - signed by Officer Commanding
On 14 June 1943, the 14th Indian Division was converted to a Training Division. It was stationed at Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh, where the terrain and vegetation matched the conditions likely to be encountered in Burma, but the comparatively mild climate allowed training throughout the year. The division was commanded by Major General Alfred Curtis. Although its purpose was to supply jungle-tr... read more

Boer War Memorial Coloured Postcard - Carter's Ridge Memorial 1899 (Siege of Kimberley)
A postally unused postcard in very good condition from the Edwardian era (c1907) - the panel with those who fell at this action is just about legible with an eyeglass despite my photo of it.
The memorial cairn commemorates the officers and soldiers killed during the second battle of Carter's Ridge in November 1899 during the Siege of Kimberley, Cape Colony (modern South Africa)... read more
