A rare brass cap badge as worn by 3/17th Battery of the Rhodesian Field Artillery as part of the 6th South African Armoured Division in the Italian campaign, 1943 - 1945. A bird crossing a river with the number 17 below. Two original flat connector style loops to the reverse, bent over for comfort when worn in the cap. A stunning Zululand Mounted Rifles (ZMR) slouch hat cap badge, worn only c. 1904 -1913. Die cast, with three original lugs to the reverse. Circa 4.7cms tall and 5cms wide. Rhino above motto scroll is "Wa Tshe Tsha" and the scroll below this carries the words Zululand Mounted Rifles. In superb condition with no damage to horn or tail, etc. Rare. (Collar badge sold as my item 58896).
