Die struck in gilding metal with original slider for wear with the Wolseley / white foreign service helmet. Circa 3.3cms in wide and 2.9cms tall with original crimped slider to reverse. In good worn condition, tuch of verdigris to reverse of the sphinx's head. Commemorates the regiment's back to back action at Alexandria in 1801. A rare pagri badge. An NCO's / Sergeant's No1 Full Dress Dark Blue Tunic, complete with all its fittings including the correct anodised collar and all buttons, metal shoulder scales, gold thread chevron with embroidered bullion wire NCO arm badge above. Gloucester - Early Edwardian 1902 Pattern Embroidered Cloth Shoulder Title

Removed from uniform, but otherwise in good condition for age. Worn 1902 - 1907 when they were abolished by the regular army on account of cost and replaced with brass metal titles. This one to the Gloucestershire Regiment. See Jon Mill's wonderful Badges on Battledress for for other similar examples to county regiments to Lincoln and Cheshire (page 4 Vol 1). Rare.
