14th (Kings) Hussars Other Ranks Brass Cap Badge (2nd Type)

Introduced in 1915, this large pattern badge was unpopular and known rather disparagingly in the Regiment as the 'Cartwheel' badge. Found in various sizes, both voided and unvoided. This one is unvoided and in good condition with its original slider. Circa 4.3cms tall.

The Regiment were amalgamated in 1922 with the 20th Hussars.

A superb set to this territorial unit comprising die cast officer's cap badge blackened, with red felt centre held in place with backing disc and two tabs. Small pattern king's crown collar badge with two original long lugs to the reverse. The Royal Crest to the centre of a Garter Strap above a scroll bearing the title. 2.7cm tall. Length of lugs suggests it may also have been worn on the cap. Evidence of service wear, and some verdigris to the reverse.

Scots Guards Officers Forage Cap Star Badge

A two-part constructed cap star silver plated and gilt with green translucent enamel to centre and two long silvered copper loops (some bending) to the reverse.
More usually encountered with pin fitting. Circa 5cms across. Worn on the Glengarry and Balmoral cap. An early example of some quality and gilt is still bright. In very good condition.

The Border Regiment (34th & 55th Foot) - QVC Victorian Smaller Pattern Other Ranks White Metal Cap Badge

Die struck, sadly the original brass strips which retained a red felt backing to the centre no longer present but it has two original fixing loops (some service wear to these but functional), and otherwise a very fine looking badge. Circa 4.1cms tall. Worn until 1901.
