This button displays the Ordnance arms. Circa 20.5mm in diameter, it is slightly convex and of two part metal construction with original shank to reverse and a blow hole to reverse for heat expansion when the two parts were braised together. Circa 21mm in diameter, original fixed shank, maker marked Firmin & Sons London. A pewter other ranks button in superb condition for age. Worn circa 1833 - 1855.

Circa 19mm in diameter, fixed shank (slightly twisted to one side), an attractive open-backed convex button, with an incised design. Maker marked Firmin & Westall, Strand (dates from 1794 - 1812 when Firmin & Westall were one company). In super condition for age. A real cracker.
