An absolute monster in the hand and of considerable weight. The flare pistol was a feature of every day life in the trenches but this one looks larger than those found as issued to the British Army with a 1.5 inch muzzle. Apparently this is a RAF issue recovered from the seabed. This is completely seized up so no need for a firearms licence and I cannot see any markings. Painted with black...  read more

In fabulous condition with London hallmarks ( leopard's head ) for 1903 (letter h ), this WBC could well have been one of the very first issued items for the new uniform.
