Of two part construction with two of two original horizontal dark toned loops to the reverse. Gilt bright. Some slight bending to east, west and south ray tips from service wear otherwise in super condition. Worn 1861 - 1869. Rare.

WW1 Wound Stripe - No 4 Provisional Patent

Complete with backing plate, cotter pin and two original lugs. This is exactly 2 inches in length and was authorised for wear by Army Order 249 of August 1916 and this was only issued in this size up to 1922 (discontinued for wear on uniform by Army Order 434 of 1922).

Wound stripes issued in WW2 were only 1.5 inches in length.

A rare and original First World War period 'Royal Naval Division cap tally ribbon', gold wire embroidered lettering on almost full length silk ribbon. Good condition, service wear, gold wire toned. Length Approx 35 inches, so a little shortened with the swallow tail ends squared off.
