The Duke of Wellington's (West Riding Regiment) Gilding Metal Helmet Plate Centre (HPC)

With all four original brass staple style loops. Some loss of detail from polishing to the central lion and a touch of verdigris to front right laurel leaves otherwise in good overall condition. Worn 1881 - 1914 on the Helmet Plate Centre and, until 1895, on the Glengarry.

Die cast with an applied bronze finish and two original blades to reverse, closed and one with point sticking up slightly, would not recommend opening these. Possibly a WW1 war time production. This pattern worn 1902 - 1925.

A die cast bronze right facing collar badge which has been blackened. The 1st VB officers wore this for a short time in a bronze finish, presumably from 1902 with the introduction of Service Dress and the 2VB officer's are assumed by Churchill to have worn this also but blackened. White metal top original cane with ferule tip. Crest of this unit. Unit existed from 1939 to 1941 only, transforming into the Northern Rhodesia Defence Force in 1941 with the introduction of compulsory service. Slightly bowed otherwise in good condition for age and rare.
