Gilt dragon resting on silver scroll inscribed “ 1st Punjab Regiment ” with additional “ China ” scroll beneath the dragon’s chest. " Cast version and theatre made. Two original integral loops to the reverse. In good condition, slightly polishing to detail on the dragon's body otherwise no damage. Circa 4.6cms wide and 2.9cms tall. An attractive badge.

This cap badge is of two part construction and of Indian manufacture, gilding metal star and crown with a white metal central mounted riveted device, with two original tombstone style fixings to reverse (north - south) complete with cotter pin. A very attractive matching facing pair of gilt die cast brass collar badges. Two original lugs to the reverse of each. Circa 1.8cms wide and 1.8cms tall. Scarce.

The 1st Punjab Regiment was a regiment of the British Indian Army from 1922 to 1947. It was transferred to the Pakistan Army on the Partition of India in 1947.

Die struck in gilding metal with two original loops to the reverse. The smaller pattern at circa 4.1cms tall. In very good condition with sharp detail. Pre 1910 as on loops.

This unit was 39th in the order of precedence of yeomanry regiments. First raised 1901 (replacing the 2nd West Yorkshire Yeomanry which had been raised in 1843 and disbanded in 1894).

A die struck example in white metal (not plated).
Circa 4.7cms tall. Scarce to find in white metal rather than gilding metal. Various theories abound from RPC attached to Armoured Units for wear on the Black Beret, to Scottish TA units, to the unit's police.

Formed in 1939. They became 'Royal' in 1946, but without a change in badge design.

As worn on the pill box or peaked cap by many Volunteer Artillery Other Ranks across the Kingdom, a white metal grenade with seventeen flames (Grenadier Guards pattern but in white metal) with two original toned loops to the reverse, slightly squashed down but still functional. Circa 4.5cms tall. Lovely item. Circa 1860 - 1902.
