A lovely early Napoleonic volunteer coatee button from 1803 - 1808 with original shank to the reverse. This has a few grip marks to it as the shank appears to have been straightened but is strong and functional. Some gilt remaining. Circa 19mm across. The central design was adopted by the Tyneside Scottish during WW1. Rare.
