WW1 Scarce Four Wound Cloth Stripes Grouping


A scarce example of four bullion wound strips tailored into one panel. These are mounted onto Other Ranks pattern backing cloth. In very good condition with no moth or damage. Measures 6.3cm by 4.7cm in total, but without the top and tailing strips, the bullion wound stripes measure 5cm ( 2 inches ) as one would expect to find from WW1 wound stripes. Looks like glue traces to reverse.  read more

A fine scarce matched and facing pair of gilt brass shoulder titles. Worn only between 1900-06. Three original loops to the reverse of each title. One title has slight twisting from service wear, otherwise in stunning condition. Scarce.

A scarce pair of matched and facing collar badges with original dark toned lugs, brass retaining strips and red felt backings. These were authorised in 1881 and worn until 1906. The last battle honour is " Inkerman ". (In 1906 a new version of this pattern was issued but included " Relief of Ladysmith"),

A small pattern die struck cap badge with two original lugs and a slider. Not sure why all the extra fittings were needed, but have seen this before on other versions of this cap badge. Slider stamped Dowler, Birmingham. Circa 3.7cm tall. Some service wear, scroll letters have some flattening, otherwise in good condition.

2 pages (folded), 4 sides of covering the development of the latest and greatest Spitfire engine. There is also a feature on Axis airforces "Behind the Lines" with a photo French trainees at Nancy in France (working for Junkers). I am not sitting pulling these magazines apart, these extracts were found in a book I have also listed on aircraft maintenance.  read more
