The 1887 - 1902 white metal detachable larger pattern glengarry white metal centre with all three staple style loops to the reverse, mounted on a die-stamped brass example of a QVC crowned brass star bearing laurel wreath which also has both of its original staple style loops. A wartime paste back, white embroidered on red K.O.S.B. shoulder title. The title is a little grubby to edges and dark stain reverse otherwise in good overall condition with no moth.

The 7th Battalion KOSB were heavily engaged at Arnhem.

A matching pair / set in very good condition with no damage, holes or rust.

Chains like these are / were worn by British Army Cavalry and Yeomanry regiments on No 1 Full Dress tunics and are a sartorial remnant of far older days when chain mail or other metal forms were worn for protection in battle against sword cuts etc.
