First pattern brass badge, with two original loops to the reverse. In very good condition. Formed in 1947 on the UK model of the ATC. Scarce badge. A second pattern, without the 'M' on the tablet being clutched by the eagle, was made in the 1960s in silver anodised aluminum. Disbanded 1965. In very good condition and scarce.

The Federated Malay States Railways (FMSR) was formed in 1901 and remained so named until 1948. This is a really nice piece hand engraved on unmarked hand beaten silver with two original loops to the reverse. A fine acquisition for the commonwealth railway enthusiast. Rare.
