Indian made cast brass with two original loops to the reverse. Numeral '6' over 'Royal Jats'. In very good condition. The title 'Royal' was conferred on them in 1921 and they became the 9th Jat Regiment in 1922, so a very short lived title. Scarce.

A large 9th Gurkha Rifles British officer's Wolseley helmet badge worn in the 1930s on the white helmet with original pin fittings and stamped 'sterling'. Circa 44mm tall and 54mm wide. Both the examples of this badge in the Gurkha Museum are similar in look and dimensions and are also stamped "STERLING". The mark may be spurious. A scarce die struck unmarked oxidised silver officer's headdress cap badge with original pagri slider. Circa 4cms tall. Worn circa 1903-1921. In very good condition. Simply gorgeous.

The regiment formed part of the 12th Indian Division and served in Mesopotamia. It had been raised in 1822 and was disbanded in 1921.
