This green cloth beret has the cap badge of 8th Battalion DLI mounted on the felt cloth diamond of the 6th Battalion. In 1967, following a national Defence Review, the last two DLI Territorial Battalions were combined to form the 6th/8th Battalion DLI, which became part of the Light Infantry's Territorial and Army Volunteer Reserve. This cap badge is of two part riveted construction and of Indian manufacture, and has been given an officer's service dress (OSD) bronzed finish, and has an original slider (which is circa 5mm wide and 30mm long) - slider fitted for wear in the pagri of the tropical sun helmet.
