As worn on the pill box or peaked cap by many Volunteer Artillery Other Ranks across the Kingdom, a white metal grenade with seventeen flames (Grenadier Guards pattern but in white metal) with two original toned loops to the reverse but these have been reinforced or re-secured with lead solder. A very pleasing gilt brass die struck example with strengthening bar to neck of grenade and two original loops to the reverse and the GR VI Royal Cypher reversed and interlaced struck on the ball. Detail is sharp with no polishing, retaining its original gilt finish. Sealed 23rd March 1941. Worn until circa 1954.
