Die struck gilding metal cap badge with two original loops to the reverse as well as a maker's tablet for JR Gaunt / London to reverse of the crown. Some service wear but in good overall condition. This is most probably a pre 1917 issue given the plaque.

The number, "18" above the letter, "H" to the centre of a crowned circlet bearing the motto within a wreath of laurel that carries the Regiments two main honour scrolls.
