Worn by the 38th, 40th and 42nd Jewish Battalions of the Royal Fusiliers which were raised later in the First World War in 1917, otherwise known as the Jewish Legion. Fabulous WW1 1914 Princess Mary Fund Gift Box Complete with Type C issue contents ( Bullet Pencil on orginal card and original New Year Card)
This includes the original grease proof paper in which the bullet pencil was originally wrapped and card upon which it was stored. This has been stored in tissue paper and away from the air for 100 years which accounts for its stunning condition. This is not a copy. Orginal 1914 Princess Mary's Christmas Ounce of Tobacco, in its original unopend sleeve and packaging
As issued to troops serving overseas in the Brass gift tin, this single packet of tobacco is an original packet (not a modern copy for re-enactors). It has some staining to the word "princess" and the sleeve is a little but grubby but it is un-torn and unopened. Very scarce.
