WW1 Wound Stripe with original backing plate - with fold over ends
Gilt finish still in reasonably good condition and with the wording "The Wounded Stripe Prov Pat No 2" embossed on the backing plate. The stripe is exactly 2 inches in length and was authorised for wear by Army Order 249 of August 1916 and this was only issued in this size up to 1922 (discontinued for wear on uniform by Army Order 434 of 1922).
