A due struck bronze example. Loops professionally replace with a pin fitting and c clasp, perhaps as a sweetheart brooch. Same size as that illustrated in Cox (circa 44mm tall). In good condition.

Authorised A/17 of 1943, introduced a badge of a launch at speed with the letters ASR emboided in the design. Sanctioned for wear in 1938, and made by Royal Mint, this badge consisted of the letters TA between two horizontal lines across the centre of a circle. Royal Irish Regiment (18th Foot) Other Ranks Gilding Metal Brass Cap Badge, EDVII Issue

A simply gorgeous example, two original dark toned loops to the reverse (north-south), as worn from 1902 - 1910. EDVII issue as King's crown and loops predating the WW1 slider. Worn circa 1902 - 1910 with lugs.

The Regiment was disbanded in 1922.
