A scarce Kolar Gold Fields Battalion matched pair of collar badges worn circa 1903-17. UK made die cast gilt brass, a crowned circlet with crossed hammer and pickaxe. Kolar Gold Fields Battalion designation applied from 1947 until Indian Independence. Circa 3cm tall with two original loops to the reverse of each. In very good condition.

A small white metal UK made / officer 's quality white metal shoulder title with two original lugs to the reverse. Slight twisting to lugs from service wear, otherwise in very good condition. Circa 33mm wide by 10mm tall.
The Kolar Gold Fields are believed to be the second deepest gold mines in the world. Situated at a distance of approximately 120km from Bangalore.

A nickel white metal plated brass cap badge with original slider to the reverse. I understand that these were changed from brass to white metal specifically for the Queen Elizabeth II's coronation in 1953, and white metal patterns were issued in 1954 onwards. Circa 5.5cm tall. Some wear to plating.

Blackened white metal lapel badge with buttonhole fixing to reverse. A rare badge to a voluntary unit formed in June 1915 to protect the cathedral from bombing raids. It numbered 260 men. Reraised in 1939 to do the same thing. Trained to deal with fires, incendiaries and gas attacks these volunteers protected the cathedral during the Blitz of Autumn 1940 to Spring 1941. A two construction brass grenade with two original loops to the reverse with HAC superimposed in white metal on the ball of the grenade as worn by Warrant Officers and Sergeants of the Infantry Battalion until 1954, when the colours were reversed. Scarce.
