29377 Sgt H. Watson 2-DAC AIF Enlisted in Feb 1916, with pre war militia service. Went to France in 1916, and had field service until the end of war. Noted in his papers that he allowed 2 committed prisoners to escape in late 1918! Also noted he served heavy guns, including Howitzers. Great actions, including Somme offensive and Hindenburg line. Ifs bully beef tonight lads! Cooks of E Company display their tins of Fray Bentos and very helpfully a set of blackboards confirming the battalion's identity. The date 1912 places them inside a barracks located in South Africa as this is where they were stationed at that time.
