WW1 - 15th & 17th Service Battalions (The Leeds Pals) The Prince of Wales's Own (West Yorkshire Regiment) Other Ranks Gilding Metal Brass Cap Badge
A dark toned brass die struck badge with two long original loops (bent upwards but functional) and not a slider (as found on copies). A scarce genuine example of this much copied badge. Note the upright "budgie", the short sturdy claw on each owl as it clutches the shield, a proper looking sheep rather than a thin looking dog like creature seen on the copies. There is a version with a slide... read more

WW1 9th Scottish Division Formation Designation White Metal Arm Badges, Facing Pair
A facing pair of die struck white metal thistles (sadly missing on their dark blue cloth backing discs) with two original lugs to the reverse of each. Not quite matching but close.

Pre WW1 Fife & Forfar Yeomanry Gilding Metal Brass Cap Badge
In good worn condition complete with full helmet plume (correctly pointing downwards on the GM examples). Good crimp to slider. Shaped to cap.
A scarce badge which has defied definitive identification often mistakenly thought to be unique to the 14th battalion Black Watch in WW1, or as a sergeant's badge, or an officer's slidered badge polished or a WW1 ecomony badge). However ... read more

WW2 Tyneside Scottish White Metal Glengarry Badge
A white metal die struck example with two original loops to the reverse. A saltire bearing a lion with one rear leg raised holding a pennon on top of a tower and the title scroll within a wreath of thistle. Given loops rather than a pin fitting, it was most probably worn in WW2 by the DLI / Black Watch / RA incarnations of the Tyneside Scottish. This pattern resealed with loops in 1940. I... read more

Durham Light Infantry DLI White Metal Cap Badge (Fat Bugle Variety), King's Crown
Not the typical DLI Cap badge in white metal, but a manufacturer's variation from WW1 which I call the 'fat bugle' variety. Original slider, but this was mounted on wooden board in an old frame and the bend in the slider has been over extended by the person who put it on the board to make it fit. It extends too far out before the down turn as a result. Some loss of detail from polishing oth... read more

WW1 Manchester Regiment Non Voided Other Ranks Bi-Metal Cap Badge
A nicely made example of the WW1 unvoided 'tram-driver" cap badge in bi-metal. Original slider (slightly shortened) and two braising /sweat holes to reverse of scroll. Not a Pals badge, but most likely a WW1 economy issued later in the war. Any information welcome.
This is the pattern with a die flaw running vertically through the shield, which is considered ok, see the follo... read more
